Flying Visit

We offer a special service to the teaching staff of the university under the title "Stippvisite" ("flying visit"). A librarian from the Information Literacy team will come to your event and present research strategies and tools appropriate to the seminar topic. Other library services such as interlibrary loan or the use of reference management programs can also be covered on request. The "Stippvisite" is also an opportunity to address specific questions and interests of your group. We are happy to discuss the details with you in advance.

We will usually come to your classroom sessions for the flying visits. But we can also participate via Zoom. Other formats are possible after individual arrangements.

Booking

You can either book a visit via the team email address or by contacting the contact person below. In order to help us with planning, we ask that you register at least four weeks before the desired date. When doing so, please also provide us with the following information:

• Topic of the seminar
• Your preferred date - April - July 2024
• Alternative date
• Desired duration of the visit
• Language of instruction
• Visit in person or Zoom

We will then contact you for more detailed arrangements. Please understand that we are not able to fulfill every request, especially for the first weeks of lectures the requested appointments sometimes exceed our capacity. The earlier you book our visit, the more likely it is that we will be able to accommodate your request and meet your scheduling needs. We are happy to accept scheduling requests for the 2024 summer term beginning Feb. 19, 2024.

Introductory courses in library use and basic research are available to all students on Moodle. In addition, there are subject-specific courses that introduce students to researching papers and introduce them to important subject databases.
