IT Infrastructure
The IT Infrastructure Team is responsible for operating central servers and for providing a campus-wide network with a fast internet connection.
Leuphana's email service, the web server for the website and the central file server are services that are used by all university members. In addition, there are many other services that are only used by certain groups, such as database servers, or that run in the background, e.g. accounting servers. The servers are gradually virtualised so that the use of resources is optimised and greater reliability and redundancy can be ensured.
A high-performance wired and wireless network is provided for the standalone computers, the laptops and the increasing number of mobile devices. The connection of the campus network to the internet is provided in duplicate for redundancy reasons.
