Online Registration

Students and Staff

Students generally receive their Leuphana Card from their orientation week tutors during orientation week. A deposit of 10 euros is charged when a Leuphana Card is issued to students. A one-time fee of 5 euros is charged to activate the library function in person at the service desk.

Staff members receive the Leuphana Card free of charge upon hiring through the Human Resources Department. Activation of the library function is also free of charge. Please visit the service desk in the library foyer once to have this done.

Private Users

In addition to students and staff of Leuphana University, members of the public from the city of Lüneburg and the surrounding area who are interested in academic research may also be admitted to use the university library, provided they are at least 16 years of age.

Please have the following documents ready when picking up or activating your library card:

• A valid ID card or a valid passport with a certificate of residence from the Citizens’ Office
• For Leuphana University employees: a certificate of employment or an employment contract
• For those between the ages of 16 and 18:declaration of consent by a parent or legal guardian.

To receive the ID card or have the library and printing functions activated, please first fill out the registration form.

You must then come in person to the library service desk during the specified opening hours to pick up your card or have it activated.
