Bachelor Info Day - Tertia Teschke: The chairs from Stanford
2025-06-10 The 22-year-old from Potsdam is studying International Business Administration and Entrepreneurship (IBAE). She is an ambassador for the Bachelor's programme. On 12 and 13 June 2025, the college team will answer questions about studying at Leuphana. Tertia Teschke will also be there.
‘It was the chairs,’ remembers Tertia Teschke and smiles. She visited Leuphana for the first time a good two years ago. The Potsdam native had just returned from her au pair year in California. A friend told her about Leuphana: the many opportunities to get involved; the unique study model. Tertia Teschke did some research and became interested in the International Business Administration and Entrepreneurship programme. "I would like to work in marketing later on and have been interested in economic topics since school. The course is taught in English, so I could even work abroad, but I also have advantages on the German labour market," says the Potsdam native.
Tertia Teschke is now in her fourth semester: "I've been involved in the IBAE student representatives and student council for a good year now. Because the university is not that big, student voices are heard. I can make a difference; that motivates me immensely," she reports.
But Tertia Teschke is not only active in her own subject: in the Leuphana semester, the joint start for all first-semester students, she has made friends throughout the university: "I like the interdisciplinary approach of Leuphana. The exchange with students from other subjects broadens my own perspective," says the student.
That's why Tertia Teschke wanted to study at a university with a central campus: "We all study together in one place and everyone finds their own space to develop. In the USA, I lived near Stanford University. Back then, I wanted this college life for my own studies too." Tertia Teschke likes Leuphana's green campus with the central building designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, the library with numerous study spaces and the opportunity to take a cheerleading class at university sports: ‘I even enjoy being on campus during the exam periods.’
On her first visit two years ago, Tertia Teschke saw one detail as a particularly good omen: American garden chairs invite you to linger on the campus lawns. They are the same as at Stanford.
On 13 June 2025, Leuphana University of Lüneburg invites you to the Bachelor Info Day on the Lüneburg campus. Prospective students are cordially invited to find out about the study opportunities at Leuphana College with its special study model. In addition to details on the application process, interested parties will be given an insight into the various study programmes (major and minor). The study programmes will also be presented online on 12 June 2025.
