Transferring from other universities

You have already studied at another university and have been admitted to an advanced semester? In the following section you will find information on the recognition of examinations taken at your previous university

Information on the recognition of study achievements for newly enrolled students in advanced semesters

Academic achievements gained at your former universitiy may be recognized if the corresponding requirements of the framework examination regulation are fulfilled.

For a successful recognition, content, character and scope have to be equivalent. There must be no substantial difference.

    Step 1: Application for recognition

Obtain a module description of your academic achievements that you wish to have recognised. Compare these module descriptions with the module descriptions of your current degree programme. You can find these in myStudy "Course Catalogue/Modul Handbook".

Fill out the "application for recognition form " form for each individual module that seems comparable to you.

Step 2: Content assessment by the responsible module coordinator

Please contact the responsible person for the module to be recognised and submit:

Please note: a module description is mandatory, the transcript of records alone is not sufficient.

    3. Decision by the examination board
As soon as the person responsible for the recognition has signed the application, submit it with the transcript of records and module descriptions to the Student Services. The examination board will then decide on your application for recognition. You will be informed you of the decision in writing. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Student Services.
