What are exams?

During your study programme, you complete each module with one or more examinations. This demonstrates that you have understood the module’s content.

An examination can, for example, be a written exam or an essay. In many modules, your grade is made up of several of these components (known as a combined academic assignment) – with each component contributing a fixed proportion to the overall grade.

Important to note: Examinations take place throughout the semester; they do not all take place at the end. Some of these tasks must be completed during the lecture period.

How do I register for exams?

You must actively register for each examination. This is done via the myCampus platform – not via myStudy. Registering for a course in myStudy does not, therefore, replace exam registration.

Registration is only possible within a set period. If you miss this deadline, you will not be able to sit the exam this semester and will not receive a grade for the module. You may also withdraw your registration within this period if you change your mind.

What examinations can I expect during the Leuphana semester?

AI Literacy module

The module grade is made up of three components: an AI coding project in the exercises (35 per cent), assignments (15 per cent) and a written test (50 per cent).

Transformation Module

The module grade is made up of three parts: in the seminar, a presentation during the conference week (30 per cent) and an academic paper (35 per cent); in the exercise, a portfolio (35 per cent).

Methods module

The module grade is made up of two parts: a written test based on the lecture content (50 per cent) and a group presentation in the seminar (50 per cent).

When do the examinations take place?

The presentations for the ‘Transformation’ module take place during the conference week. You will be informed of the exact dates for the other examinations in the respective courses.

Who can I turn to if I have any questions?

If you are unsure, please contact the tutors for the Leuphana Semester – they will assist you both with registration and with any questions regarding the process. For formal enquiries regarding examination regulations and deadlines, the Helpdesk is also available to assist you.

IMPORTANT DATES

Opening Week October 1. & 2. and 5. – 10. 2026	During the Opening Week, you will gain a comprehensive insight into studying at Leuphana, get to know your fellow students and work together on your first project.
Registration for courses October 2^nd (8.00 Uhr) – October 23^rd (23.59 Uhr) 2026	Using myStudy, you can put together your timetable by selecting the seminars and lectures you wish to take in the coming semester.
Lottery 1. Draw: October 6^th (23.00 Uhr) 2026 2. Draw: Oktober 9^th (12.00 Uhr) 2026	If demand for a seminar exceeds the number of places available, places will be allocated by lottery. If you do not secure a place in your first choice, you can apply again for any remaining places in a second lottery or move up the waiting list within the first two weeks.
Lecture Period 12.10.2026 – 31.03.2027	Your seminars and lectures take place during the lecture period. There are no courses over the holidays from 24 December 2026 to 6 January 2027.
Registration Period for Exams October 12^th – October 26^th 2026	To sit exams, you must register via myCampus, and you can also withdraw your registration within the specified deadlines. Registering for a course in myStudy does not replace exam registration.
Exam Period February 8^th – 27^th 2027 March 22nd – April 3^rd 2027	During the two examination periods, you will complete your modules with written examinations and assignments. You will complete your examination work and submit it by the specified deadlines.
Conference Week March 10^th –12^th 2027	The Conference week is the highlight of the Leuphana semester: you will present your project results, engage in discussions with other students and celebrate the end of the semester together.
