Leuphana account & Leuphana Card

The technological foundation for your studies at Leuphana: Here you can find out how to activate your Leuphana account and how to get your Leuphana Card.

THE LEUPHANA ACCOUNT

The University’s Media and Information Centre provides detailed instructions to guide you step by step through

1. activating your Leuphana account

2. accessing your email account

3. setting up myStudy

4. so that you can access myCampus.

Please note: The order of the steps is important here; you must start by activating your Leuphana account.

You can find the instructions, a video and the digital brochure ‘The MIZ’s Services’ here: https://www.leuphana.de/en/services/miz/information-for/first-semester-students.html

THE LEUPHANA CARD

You will receive your Leuphana Card from your tutors during the opening week. A €10 cash deposit is required for the card; please make sure you have the exact amount with you. It may also be a good idea to bring €50 in cash as an initial top-up for the card. It’s best to bring cash for the initial credit, as there are more ways to top up the card with cash. You can use this initial credit during the induction week to eat at the canteen regularly.

Later on, you can use the Leuphana Card to borrow books and print documents at the library. To do this, the card must first be personalised. To do so, you must first register via the Media and Information Centre’s (MIZ) online registration form and then go to the service desk in the library foyer. Please do not sign the card until you have completed this personalisation process; do not sign it beforehand. The card will be personalised together with the tutors during the opening week.

E-MAIL SIGNATURE

All students at Leuphana University are automatically issued with an email address upon enrolment, which is valid for the duration of their studies. The email service is part of Microsoft 365 and can be used with Outlook. Please use your Leuphana email address for internal communication at Leuphana (e.g. with Student Services or lecturers) and set up a signature in Outlook using the following template:

First name, Surname (as entered on myCampus)

Matriculation number xxxxxxx (seven digits)

Degree title, degree programme (e.g. BA in Cultural Studies)

For further information on setting up Outlook and your signature, see the IT Service guide: https://anleitungen.leuphana.de/doku.php/en/email-und-kalender/start

Next, we’ll look at the pre-courses you can take.
