START YOUR STUDIES WELL PREPARED
To prepare for your studies at the College, you can attend preparatory courses to refresh your knowledge of subjects relevant to your degree. Some of the content covered in the preparatory courses revisits material from lower and upper secondary school. These courses are offered on an optional basis, so attendance is voluntary.
For all first-year students at Leuphana College
English is also part of studying at Leuphana College within the German-language major – whether it is reading, writing, speaking, or listening comprehension. That’s why we offer free intensive courses for all first-year students. Participation offers you the opportunity to prepare yourself optimally for your studies by working on demanding texts, participating in specialist discussions in your field of study, and expressing yourself in a structured manner on complex issues. Take the opportunity to learn presentation techniques and expland your vocabulary.
Participation in the courses is voluntary. They serve to prepare you for your studies, but are not a mandatory part of them.
You can find further information about the English intensive courses on the International Center website.

For all first-year students at Leuphana College
Mathematics is not only important for study programmes in engineering, economics or the natural sciences, but is also relevant for the Leuphana Semester at Leuphana College. We therefore offer a free preparatory course for all new students, giving you the opportunity to assess and refresh your prior knowledge of mathematics in an online course before you start your degree and during the first few semesters of your studies. Take this opportunity to refresh or expand your prior knowledge from school with the help of explanatory videos, exercises and quizzes!
Participation in the courses is voluntary. They are designed to help you prepare for your study programme, but are not a compulsory part of it.
You can register for the course on the website of the Institute for Mathematics and its Didactics [EF1] (IMD). The staff there will also be happy to help if you have any questions.
