Creating your myStudy Account
Help - I can't find my myStudy password?
When setting up your myStudy account, you choose your own user name and password. When setting up your myStudy account, you will have to enter your new Leuphana e-mail address.
All first semester students automatically receive an e-mail address upon enrollment for the duration of their studies. You will find the access data on the document with your student ID.
Who should I contact if I have already created an account and have forgotten my password?
If you have already created an account and have forgotten your password, the system can send you a new password by e-mail: Forgot your password? The password will be sent to your Leuphana e-mail address. The access data for the e-mail account can be found on the document with your student card.
If login is repeatedly not possible, please contact mystudy@leuphana.de.
Course selection with myStudy
What is the Conference Week ("Konferenzwoche")? How do I register?
The module "Transforming knowledge: responsible action" will end with the conference week. You will present the results of your research project and at the same time have the opportunity to get to know projects of your fellow students. Please make sure that you put the conference week as an extra event in the myStudy schedule and click on "register".
Which of the seminars are subject to the lottery procedure?
Registration for the compulsory courses is usually assigned via a list procedure without participant limitation. For elective and compulsory events with a limited number of places, there is a lottery procedure. In the two lotteries you have the opportunity to apply for a place in these courses. In the Leuphana Semester, the seminars in the modules "Transforming knowledge: responsible action", "Producing knowledge: methodologies" and "Problematising knowledge: critical thinking" are elective courses.
You can recognize this by the fact that the courses are displayed in a cluster. Within the cluster you can select your favorite course.
What should I do if I did not get a place in the elective course I chose?
If after the first lottery you have not been awarded a place in the chosen course, you have the opportunity to apply for another elective course during the second lottery. When both lotteries are finished, all available places will be released for immediate registration. Furthermore, there is the possibility to be automatically accepted into a course via waiting list.
When I register in myStudy, am I automatically registered for the exam?
No, you are not automatically registered for the exam via the course registration! To register for exams, use the web-based platform QIS. To log in to QIS, you need the access data of your Leuphana account. You will find these on the document with your student ID. For help with technical problems please contact qis@leuphana.de.
Am I registered for an event once I have put it in my schedule?
No, the entry in the schedule alone is not enough, the registration or application is only done after you have clicked on "Register" as well. You can, for example, enter various elective courses in the schedule and select one of them at the end. You can find an overview of your registrations under the second tab "Registrations".
Right of Precedence (in case of severe disability, chronic illness, part-time study, care of a child or a close relative, pregnancy)
Students with significant time constraints imposed by severe disability, chronic illness, part-time study, care of a child or a close relative, pregnancy can claim entitlement to priority access to a course. Information on the entitlements and the exact procedure can be obtained from the Office of Equal Opportunities.
Filter function and targeted search
What can I do, if courses are overlapping?
First, check whether it is really an overlap. Some seminars take place in 14-day rotation. If you switch from the schedule view to the calendar view in myStudy, you can go through the individual calendar weeks.
If an elective seminar overlaps with a compulsory course, select another elective seminar. Use the function "Extended search options" to search for specific days and times. In this way you will get search results matching free time slots in your schedule.
Can I filter the courses by the language of instruction?
Yes, use the " Extended search options " in myStudy. You can filter by language of instruction. For example, you can display only those courses that are taught in English.
If I have not received a place - after the 2nd lottery - who can I contact?
One place in one of the elective seminars is available for every first-semester student. If you still have not received a place in one of the compulsory elective seminars after the second lottery, or if you have been admitted to the degree programme later via the list of latecomers, the module coordinators will help you. Please send your request with your matriculation number to the following contacts:
