Inclusive Child and Youth Services: Certificate course

Implementing Inclusion in Compliance with the Children and Youth Empowerment Act

The program is offered in German and is thus directed at prospective students with a good command of German language skills. The program’s German-language web pages provide detailed information needed on the content of the course and application procedures.

The Child and Youth Empowerment Act (KJSG) fundamentally changes the work of child and youth welfare services. Under the planned reform, child and youth welfare services would be responsible for all children and adolescents (regardless of their disabilities) starting in 2028. Child and youth welfare institutions will thus face new requirements, particularly with regard to needs assessment, participation planning, documentation, and coordination across service interfaces. The legislature has planned a seven-year transition period (2021 to 2028) for these adjustments. With the part-time certificate program in Inclusive Child and Youth Services, you’ll gain the qualifications in just one semester to actively shape the changes brought about by the Child and Youth Empowerment Act and apply them in your workplace. You’ll learn about the current legal requirements and become qualified to design participation processes in a legally compliant, person-centered, and effective manner.
