The Sustainability Management MBA covers a wide range of subject-specific and interdisciplinary areas, enabling you to implement sustainable development and corporate social responsibility (CSR) in business. Specialist, practical and soft skills as well as an extensive network open up opportunities in management and new career options. Over 650 students and alumni and numerous partners in practice form an extensive sustainability management network.

Become a ‘change agent for sustainability’

We are looking for graduates who want to drive forward sustainable development in business and society and advance their careers. You can design your studies flexibly, choosing either a full-time or professional option.

  • The course is aimed at professional development in management and leads to the accredited and internationally recognised degree of "Master of Business Administration" (MBA).
  • This professional course of study combines CSR and sustainability management with innovation management, soft skills and entrepreneurship.
  • The programme qualifies you to shape companies or organisations in a responsible manner, thereby profitably contributing to sustainable development.
  • The Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM) at Leuphana University of Lüneburg is a leading centre of excellence for sustainability management and an international research hub in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship. The Centre runs the MBA as part of the continuing education model at the Professional School.

For whom is this MBA well-suited?

The MBA in Sustainability Management is aimed at visionaries who want to manage and shape the future today – in companies of all sizes and sectors from start-ups to major corporations, in associations, public administration, NGOs and international organisations.

Shape change in your field of work – as a manager and specialist in a key position in purchasing, logistics, sales or marketing, or as an expert in environmental and sustainability departments. Public service employees can strengthen their profile with the MBA, and representatives of non-governmental organisations can acquire the necessary expertise to provide critical and constructive support for enterprise change.

Different disciplines, roles, backgrounds and fields – it is the diversity of the student body that makes the MBA programme so exciting.

The flexible route to a Sustainability Management MBA

The Sustainability Management MBA is offered as a blended-learning programme: we combine the benefits of e-learning with those of face-to-face class time. In other words, you can study for your MBA flexibly and alongside work – however, whenever and wherever you want. In addition to interactive formats and staff-led tutorials, Webinars and group work on the learning platform, you also attend up to ten block seminars for intensive training at Leuphana together with your fellow students.

Students on the Sustainability Management MBA have the support of a dedicated team. The MBA team at the Centre for Sustainability Management provides individual help and advice throughout your degree. We respond flexibly to your needs and find solutions together.

The modular structure of the programme allows us to tailor it to your requirements. Students can switch from full-time to part-time and vice versa. The programme leads to an internationally recognised Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in two to six semesters depending on the option selected.
