Future Day at the School of Management & Technology
2026-05-12
Once again this year, our School contributed to the program for Leuphana’s Future Day: The Institute for Production Technology and Systems (IPTS) welcomed eight students to provide them with insights into the technical degree programs and practical applications of engineering.
The students began by attending an electrical engineering lecture by Prof. Dr. Brit-Maren Block, after which they had the opportunity to talk with current students. This gave them the chance to ask individual questions about the program, course content, and everyday life at the university.
This was followed by a 3D printing workshop led by Marie Gillian Guerne and Anton Kobabe. After a brief theoretical introduction to the basics of 3D printing, the students learned about the entire process of a printing project: from creating a CAD model through the so-called “slicing” process to the finished print. During the workshop, the participants designed their own keychains, some of which were already printed and ready to take home by the end of the lunch break.
