Philipp Sandermann, Professor of Social Pedagogy, was appointed to the Children and Youth Report Commission by the Federal Minister of Youth, Lisa Paus.

The Child and Youth Reports regularly inform policy-makers and professionals about the situation of young people in Germany and the situation of child and youth welfare services. In addition to academics, the commission also includes representatives of the youth welfare offices of the federal states and parity associations. "The new Children and Youth Report is intended to show how their offers and services need to be further developed," said the Minister at the appointment.

"We live in an increasingly diverse society in Germany. This concerns not only, but also and especially the topic of migration and refugee migration," said Sandermann. "The fact that the federal government has put this topic at the top of the agenda for the next children and youth report pleases me and shows me that we are resonating with our research in this area at Leuphana."
