Unveiling Generative AI: A Day at Airbus Innovation Day

During the Airbus Innovation Day on March 5, 2024 AIX team members Aida Usmanova and Rana Abdullah paid a visit to Airbus’s research center and engaged the audience with cutting-edge insights into Generative AI. Their presentation started with the evolutionary journey of Large Language Models (LLMs), showcasing how these marvels of technology have transformed into the powerhouse tools they are today. Presenters also demonstrated various applications of LLMs, with a special focus on their potential within Airbus. From assisting in writing codes and generating the documentation, to finding answers to complex customers' queries from technical manuals.
The discourse then delved into the art of prompt engineering, illuminating how the strategic crafting of prompts can unlock even greater potential from these advanced models. The audience was also reminded of the ethical and legal issues that may arise while utilizing such powerful technologies, underscoring the importance of responsible usage and conscientious decision-making.
After the presentation, Airbus generously opened the doors to their cybersecurity lab and the Future Industrial Line, to witness firsthand the cutting-edge solutions being developed to make air travel safer and more delightful for everyone.
