Through a practical, experience-based approach and the use of innovative teaching methods, this minor provides students with a thorough introduction to the fundamentals and applications of entrepreneurship: from identifying opportunities and developing business ideas through to responsible founding and the question of how to create lasting economic, social and ecological value.

The Minor Entrepreneurship, which is administered by the Institute of Management and Organization in the School of Management & Technology, reflects Leuphana's longstanding identity as one of Germany's most entrepreneurship-friendly universities. Action-oriented by design, the minor goes well beyond topics like financial planning or marketing; it nurtures courage, creativity, self-confidence and resilience, and encourages students to find their own personal path into entrepreneurship.

The kick-off session was led by Pauline Reinecke alongside Peter Jaeger, an external partner and manager at CompuSys, who brought vivid real-world experience to the room.

We asked three participants of the introductory session why they chose "Entrepreneurship" as their minor:

I've always wanted to know how to start a business because you never know what kind of opportunities you have now or in the future. I'd just like to be prepared.

I'm trying to connect the sustainability part with a business, maybe like consulting and helping businesses become more sustainable.

I always wanted to start a business, to launch a startup. From this seminar, I'm really excited to learn about something that I could start and it would be a real business.

We wish all students of the first Entrepreneurship Minor cohort a smooth and inspiring start, continued creative and hands-on work and every success on their entrepreneurial journey!
