Examination phase from 16.03.2020 to 28.03.2020

On 13.03.2020 you have been informed by the university management that the second exam phase of the winter semester 2019/2020 will not be carried out as planned.
In principle, the exams will be taken at a later date. The exam dates have been postponed until further notice. Corresponding dates will be announced as soon as it is clear when classroom teaching can resume.
In order to avoid delays in studies and graduation, the university is also working as fast as we can to offer digitally supported examinations as an alternative to classroom-based examination, to create the technical prerequisites and to clarify the modalities for conducting examinations. We will inform you as soon as we can and provide more detailed information. At this point in time and provided that the students agree, we assume that it will be possible to conduct digital exams, e.g. with Moodle, within the next few weeks, but in all probability not yet at the originally planned exam date. The teaching service, in cooperation with MIZ, will take care of providing the necessary technology in a timely manner. In addition, the teaching service, in cooperation with the e-learning colleagues of the Professional School, will promptly prepare a short instruction manual for setting up and conducting online exams.
For the time being, students can only submit a specially justified request to the examination board for the performance of the examination in another, equivalent type of examination in urgent exceptional cases, e.g. if it is the last exam and thus the last 5 CP that are still missing for the successful completion of the course. In this case, please send a signed application (photo, scan, etc.) by e-mail to the person responsible for your degree programme at Student Services.
In the interest of your fellow students and in order to guarantee the workability of the examination boards and the student services in the current special circumstances, we would like to ask you to wait for further information.

Examination interview for the Bachelor thesis / oral examination for the Master thesis

Under the current special circumstances, the oral examination for the Bachelor thesis or the oral examination for the Master thesis can also be held digitally supported (e.g. with Skype, GoToMeeting) in urgent exceptional cases.
As a general rule, students are requested to send an appropriate, specially substantiated and signed (as a photo, scan or similar) application by e-mail to the person responsible for their course of study*at the Student Services Office. This application must include the following declaration:
"I hereby declare that, in view of the current special circumstances for coping with the corona crisis, it is my express wish, in deviation from the respective RPO, not to conduct the examination interview for the Bachelor thesis or the oral examination for the Master thesis as a presence examination. I consciously accept the associated change in the examination conditions and waive my right to contest the examination.

Doctorates

Doctoral Defences

Under the current special circumstances, doctoral defences can also be conducted digitally supported in urgent, exceptional cases.
The university is currently working as fast as possible to create the technical prerequisites for such digitally supported examination discussions and to clarify the modalities for the examination procedure. We will inform you as soon as we can and provide more detailed information.
As a general rule, doctoral students are requested to send an appropriate, specially substantiated and signed (as a photo, scan, etc.) application form by e-mail to the relevant doctoral board. This application must contain the following declaration:
"I hereby declare that, in view of the current special circumstances for coping with the corona crisis, it is my express wish, in deviation from the respective doctoral regulations, not to conduct the doctoral defence as a presence examination. I consciously accept the associated change in the examination conditions and waive my right to contest the examination.

The deadlines for a written scientific paper or a written part of a combined scientific paper have ended on March 15; for the winter semester 2019/2020 they have ended on March 16, as March 15 fell on a Sunday.
Please note that the deadline set for your such written examination paper has not changed.
If students still have to hand in these written exam papers (e.g. due to extensions due to illness), under the current special circumstances, please send the paper in digital form only by e-mail directly to the*examiner*in. Please make sure that your examination paper contains the signed (as photo, scan or similar) declaration according to § 7 Abs. 8 RPO Leuphana Bachelor, § 7 Abs. 8 RPO Master, § 7 Abs. 9 RPO Lehramt.
