Resources, Material and Energy flows
Today’s world is characterized by scientific and technological changes. In order to be able to make informed decisions in this world, one needs to have a basic or more profound understanding of scientific issues and the ability to apply scientific methods and procedures. In this way, Sustainable Chemistry is a vanguard field that develops solutions that meet the criteria of sustainability based on more holistic and systems thinking approaches. It involves renewable materials and related products, as well as non-renewable ones, their flows and processes, attempting to understand and incorporate the most recent advances also from other fields (as Social Sciences), including options that do not involve chemical processes when they can potentially offer a more sustainable alternative to current products, procedures and services. Sustainable Chemistry Education it is home to the didactics of natural sciences with its research and teaching activities in the profession of chemistry, biology and science education with the reference subject of natural sciences.
