Sustainability Literacy
Sustainability knowledge. For everyone.
Strengthen sustainability literacy and the integration of sustainability topics into study programmes by using the Sulitest platform.
“More sustainability knowledge and exposure to sustainability topics in college!” – A request that has been repeatedly made by students in several degree programs within the School of Management & Technology (LSMT). This wish was not easy to address, because the curricula are already packed with subject-specific knowledge and offer only limited scope for the systematic integration of sustainability content. The Sulitest platform is specifically designed to address this issue.
Sustainability literacy – meet the need for sustainability education
To address the identified need among students for in-depth sustainability education for all, the School of Management and Technology launched a project to promote and highlight sustainability knowledge – with the help of dedicated faculty members.
A key component of the project is Sulitest, which provides a variety of learning and teaching materials on sustainability literacy – including videos, quizzes, and scripts – for instructors and students. At the heart of this is the comprehensive multiple-choice test, TASK (The Assessment of Sustainability Knowledge), which allows for tracking knowledge growth over time. In addition to the access to sustainability education, students receive an internationally recognized certificate upon completing the test that demonstrates their sustainability knowledge.
Sulitest combines fundamental and widely recognized theories and concepts from the field of sustainability studies and is fully aligned with the international discourse on knowledge, competencies, and sustainability literacy. All faculty members in the School of Management and Technology have access to materials via Sulitest that they can use in their courses. The knowledge base on the platform, including tests and materials, is regularly updated.
Sulitestwas designed for students in fields such as business administration or engineering and technology. The School of Management and Technology at Leuphana University offers Sulitest to its bachelor’s and master’s students. However, it could also be useful for more programs at Leuphana in the future.
- Access to a set of resources that provide guidance on the key concepts of the global discourse and comprehensive knowledge across a wide range of sustainability topics.
- The opportunity to measure and track their sustainability literacy at multiple points during their studies
- Certificates of sustainability literacy that enhance their CVs and demonstrate their competencies to employers
We are convinced that future professionals need a fundamental understanding of sustainability principles to succeed in the workplace. This aligns with global trends that emphasize responsible business practices, innovation, and ethical leadership.
