Part-time continuing education program: Digital solutions for educational tasks
2025-05-21 Lüneburg. The new EdTech Product Management continuing education program at Leuphana University of Lüneburg is aimed at specialists and managers from the digital education sector. The practice-oriented certificate program at the Professional School can be completed on a part-time basis. It focuses on innovative, digitally supported solutions for educational tasks. Working professionals from the education sector, publishing houses, EdTech start-ups, and the EdTech industry will be qualified to take on project responsibility in the development and implementation of EdTech solutions. The program will start in October 2025. Applications are open until July 31. Various counseling options are available for interested parties.
Educational technology (EdTech) aims to expand access to education with the help of technology-based solutions and products, optimize learning processes, and create flexible, individualized learning environments. This requires managers with up-to-date know-how, methodological expertise, and a comprehensive overview who can efficiently manage interdisciplinary project teams. “In digital education, we need people who can bring together didactic, technological, and entrepreneurial perspectives. This is exactly where our certificate program comes in,” explains Prof. Dr. Torben Schmidt, who developed the new program.
The one-semester certificate program consists of three modules. Students learn how to develop user-centered EdTech products, apply artificial intelligence and learning analytics, and use playful elements and gamification. Each module can also be studied individually. The entire program is characterized by its practical relevance: In addition to Leuphana scientists, experienced practitioners are also involved in development and teaching, contributing their expertise and proven tools to the curriculum.
The certificate qualifies students to take on responsibility in key positions, for example as product owners in the EdTech sector, in product management, or as innovation managers in the field of education.
Online information events will be held on June 6 and July 30, 2025, for prospective students. Further information on the program will also be available at the Professional School's online information day on June 28, 2025. Coordinator Ingo Auhagen (edtech@leuphana.de, phone 04131.677-2467) is available for consultation.
