Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

The workshop aims at providing an introduction to teaching and learning in higher education for beginners in teaching at higher education institutions as well as more experienced instructors who want to refresh their knowledge and engage in exchange with colleagues. The topics will include:
 

•  basics of higher education pedagogy (constructivist and cognitivist basics, student-centred teaching/shift from teaching to learning, constructive alignment, active learning)
•  What are great learning experiences made of?
•  your teaching experiences & challenges: focus on your specific questions and transfer to your teaching

This workshop will be very interactive, we will use different methods and tools and discuss teaching approaches in the online, blended and traditional classroom. Your questions and interests will be at the centre – therefore you’ll be asked to answer a few questions about your learning goals in the run-up to the workshop.
