Registration & Procedure

Instructions in seven steps

  1. Log in through myStudy, access your course, and select "Edit Information."
  2. Under the heading "Teaching Evaluation", click on "register this course for evaluation".
  3. After the welcome page, check the information in the user account (contact details of the person logging in) or, if necessary, enter them again when logging in for the first time.
  4. Determine the desired evaluation dates of the LVE (evaluation date, meeting date, feedback options).
  5. Set the language of the questionnaire and the result reports (German or English).
  6. If necessary, add the freely designable question block to the basic questionnaire and formulate your own items and questions.
  7. Note your request for personal consultation, if applicable.

Please make sure that your evaluation date is at least four weeks before the end of lectures to allow for a timely processing of the survey and a discussion of the results within the lecture period!

Online LVE

If online LVE is used, the students are automatically emailed a direct, individual link on the day which you have selected as the start date for the evaluation, alongside the access details for the chosen questionnaire (basic module plus additional free choice module if applicable). You will be sent the lecturer questionnaire by email at the same time. From this day, you and the student are usually given 14 days to complete the course feedback online once (please contact us to change this period).

In order to increase feedback received, we recommend that you free up time during a teaching event to allow students to complete the online LVE (approx. 10 min).

Students can complete the online questionnaire using a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. The data are then anonymised and electronically sent to the Leuphana Teaching Evaluation team.

Lecturer questionnaire

Regardless of whether you select paper or online LVE, you will also receive a lecturer questionnaire where you can record your perspective and expectations regarding the teaching event. Comparing these details in the results report with student opinions provides a useful and meaningful focus when interpreting the results.

LVE for joint teaching

For joint courses, evaluations may be separate or joint. In your evaluation account in the area "personal data" you basically define how you want to evaluate courses with several instructors. You have three options here (basic approval, basic rejection, individual vote for each course).

If a joint evaluation is desired, all teachers will receive an email asking them to agree to the joint LVE within a period of 5 days via a link. If all teachers have agreed or declined, a joint LVE will start with all those who have given their consent. If you decline or do not vote, you will be automatically enrolled in the single LVE.
