Why do our students come to Leuphana University?

How satisfied are they with the teaching in the study elements, their study programme and the framework conditions?

What do they do after the graduation?

How do our students live and work later on, and to what extent do the skills they have acquired during their studies help them to do so?

The internal teaching evaluation of Leuphana University comprises a group of internal university surveys of (former) students on the quality of studies and teaching, which are designed and developed by the "Leuphana Lehrevaluation" team (LEva). While the course evaluation (LVE) is intended for the evaluation of teaching in individual courses, the system surveys focus on entire study programmes as well as the general conditions of study.

The conception and evaluation of the system surveys is oriented towards the student lifecycle university. The system surveys currently used at Leuphana University include:

  • the interim survey (survey of current students),
  • the graduate survey (survey of former students),
  • the alumni survey (survey of graduates approx. 3-5 years after the graduation).

The respective sample is invited to the online survey in an email with a personalised access link. The results of the individual surveys flow into the study programme-specific quality circles, among other things, and serve as a starting point for an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of a study programme as well as for the conception of suitable follow-up measures for the further development of study and teaching. The procedures are also described in the Presidential Board's guideline on quality development in teaching and learning (Richtlinie des Präsidiums zur Qualitätsentwicklung in Studium und Lehre).
